The Banality of Evil

As a novelist, when I heard about this, I wanted to put a face to it, to understand who could stand up in court and argue for children being denied basic necessities. This is a video of a woman ‘just doing her job’. A cautious bureaucrat, an illustration of the banality of evil https://t.co/EOQiDBG8F0

With all due respect, our nation started out by enagaging in genocide and slavery. We had no compassion or common decency to people of color. But what we did do was move toward adopting high ideals and now we’re regressing back to what we used to be.

Whom Can I Believe?

….Death to America. I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions. They are a much weakened nation today than at the beginning of my Presidency, when they were causing major problems throughout the Middle East. Now they are Bust!….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 21, 2019

….proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 21, 2019

Very smart thread this time. But who tells the truth? Trump? Iran's regime? MBS? In this alternative facts era, how can we know?

I live in a country where, in a peaceful landscape, US soldiers are stationed who pilot these drones: https://t.co/SfuZeTzDBp@RichardGrenell

North Korea has developed nuclear weapons.
Trump respects Kim Jong Un and saluts to his Generals.

Iran hasn't nuclear weapons yet.
Trump doesn't respect Iran's regime.

Trump keeps good relations with Saudi Arabia. They are a much strengthened nation today. Now Khashoggi is bust! He worked for the enemy of the people (@washingtonpost), but now he cannot comment anymore on Trump's handling of the Iran issue. https://t.co/QeLaUhjmvS

Salute

President @realDonaldTrump stayed after his commencement speech at the @AF_Academy in Colorado Springs this past Thursday to shake hands with nearly 1,000 graduating cadets….

Trump and Huckabee had no clue. In such a scenario that kind of military salute surely is not "common courtesy": Trump isn't a soldier and wears no uniform. His salute is childish. Actually, the North Korean General seems to be a bit surprised.

Mohammed Bin Salman: Iran Is the Culprit

Also Mohammed bin Salman asserts that Iran is behind the attack. Surprise?

Since the butchering of #Khashoggi (https://t.co/0JG6yjwdoi ) #MBS has a credibility issue. Do Trump (https://t.co/sLIZWW76i7), Pompeo and the @GOP need MBS' help for 2020?

I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but there are several "state actors" who might want to deliberately tip an already belligerent Donald Trump and John Bolton towards war with Iran. Not least Benjamin Netanyahu and Mohammed bin Salman.

Great job. The USS John S. Mc Cain now got even more attention that without one of these childish Trump maneuvers. This is a beautiful example how the "Streisand effect" works. I love it.https://t.co/7Eid3cNPkj

In Germany we more and more tend to poke fun at our armed forces, but so far our soldiers didn't manage to entertain us with stories as weird as this grotesque McCain name hiding comedy. I never would have believed that something like this could happen in reality.

— Goetz Kluge (@Bonnetmaker) June 2, 2019

Whatever, the Streisand effect sometimes makes hidden things even more visible.

“There’s a Method Underlying What Appears to Be Trump-GOP Madness”

10/ They also can’t enact left wing policies of providing services to working people, because this, too, allows others to rise up and challenge them.

Funding infrastructure means less money to channel to the would-be oligarchs.

It also creates a stronger democracy.

Trump Hears Signals

Joe Bidan could have never made a deal this good pic.twitter.com/tjF5Sk7TZn

It is not this typo which tells us something about the IQ and the evilness of the present president of the USA. And the support which Trump gets tells us something about the character and the evilness of a large part of the citizens of the USA.

North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me. I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Bidan a low IQ individual, & worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?

It looks like this tweet was replaced by the next tweet from @realDonaldTrump.

It’s incredibly chilling for the President of the United States to excuse the belligerent actions of a North Korean dictator who murdered American citizens while applauding attacks on Democratic opponents like “Joe Bidan” just before playing golf in Japan on Memorial Day weekend.
